After years of gestation with rumors of Chris Hemsworth starring as Hulk Hogan in a biopic from Joker director Todd Phillips, the film looks to be officially dead.

In a recent intervie (via Comicbook.com), Phillips shared, “I love what we were trying to do, but that's not going to come together for me." Alas, we may never see Thor take on The Hulkster. While this is definitely news, it’s not too surprising given that Netflix, where the film was once located, seemingly lost the rights to tell the film.

Joker writer Scott silver wrote the script. There’s no word on if we will see the film land somewhere else, but Phillips sounds like he is moving on. Hey, we still have that Gawker movie about the wrestler!
