From Sean Chandler
The South By Southwest (SXSW) Film & TV Festival has kicked off in Austin, Texas and Sean Chandler Talks About is on the ground attending some of the biggest premieres and happenings.
Next up is Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt action flick The Fall Guy, an adaptation of the show of the same name from the 80s starring Lee Majors. Sean boasted about the high level of action, the humor, and the romanticism while calling it a celebration of stunt performers. In the film, Gosling (Barbie, Blade Runner 2049) takes on the lead role of Colt Seavers, a battered and past-his-prime stuntman, finds himself working on a film set with the famous star for whom he doubled long ago. When the star goes missing, and the film [which is being directed by Colt's ex-girlfriend played by Blunt] is in danger of being shut down, he volunteers to investigate the disappearance and find the missing actor. The Fall Guy also stars Winston Duke (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Spenser Confidential), Aaron-Taylor Johnson (Bullet Train, the upcoming Kraven the Hunter), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso, the upcoming Mission: Impossible 8), Stephanie Hsu (BLUE EYE SAMURAI, the upcoming Dìdi), and Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, Lights Out). Majors himself is also set to appear in the film.
Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Bullet Train), The Fall Guy hits theaters on May 3rd, 2024
