‘Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver’: Looking At The Trailer For The Second Half Of Zack Snyder’s Space Adventure - Trailer
From Ryan Cordaro
The feeling of getting two movies from Zack Snyder within a small window is a very strange feeling. My personal feelings for Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire aside, I appreciate the fact that Snyder is doing what he wants to be doing and isn’t being forced into an area. I personally prefer Army of the Dead and I hope that the plans for expanding that franchise aren’t abandoned because of his focus on Rebel Moon. With a comic book written by Mags Visaggio, a video game only available on Netflix, and an animated short film, among many things I’m most likely forgetting about, it feels like it’s the plan now to focus on expanding Rebel Moon. They’re so confident in this that the follow-up to A Child of Fire is on the way within a few months, with its trailer dropping as the film’s post-credits scene before releasing online.
Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, fittingly for a two-part movie, concludes the possible franchise starter for Snyder and Netflix. After banding together, the rebels gear up for the battle of their lives against the Motherworld, and legends are made. There’s admittedly not much to talk about in terms of the plot without spoiling A Child of Fire, so know that this is the epic finale to what was set up in part one.
There’s not an entirely confirmed cast list for The Scargiver yet, but based on the trailer, we can expect most of the ensemble cast from A Child of Fire to return. Those include Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service, CLIMAX), Michiel Huisman (The Flight Attendant, Kate), Ed Skrein (Deadpool, Midway), Djimon Honsou (Blood Diamond, Gran Turismo), Bae Doona (Cloud Atlas, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance), Staz Nair (Game of Thrones, Supergirl), E. Duffy, Cleopatra Coleman (Infinity Pool, Cobweb), Ray Fisher (Zack Snyder’s Justice League, True Detective), Fra Free (Hawkeye, Les Misérables), Alfonso Herrera (Ozark, Sense8), and Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs, Freud’s Last Session). While they don’t appear in the trailer, Corey Stoll (Billions, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania) and Cary Elwes (Saw, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) are expected to reprise their roles from A Child of Fire, as they are both in the cast list.
Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver is rumored to have a limited theatrical release, similar to A Child of Fire, but The Scargiver releases on Netflix on April 19th. There will also be R-rated, extended cuts of both parts releasing at some point in 2024.
