The season finale opens with Priscilla and Fury on the phone. She asks him when he’s coming back and he doesn’t answer, she says he doesn’t have to go through with his plan if he doesn’t want to. He dismisses her by telling her to take care. Two skull guards open fire on a car and Fury comes around the corner and kills them both.

Rhodey is trying to convince the president that the attack on his motorcade was by the Russians. The admiral isn’t convinced and Rhodey asks her if she took a stupid pill with her breakfast. I shouldn’t have laughed but I did. Rhodey continues to tell her off and continues defending his position. He drafts a statement for the president, he seems noncommittal.

Fury approaches a door in New Skrullos to see an abundance of Skrulls dead on the floor. New Skrullos was completely abandoned until he sees Gravik standing in the middle of the super Skrull machine. Fury is coughing violently and tries to take some pills but he drops them and Gravik stomps them. Gravik is doing his supervillain speech. He tells Fury that his skin is of the first person he killed and that Fury told him to do it. Gravik wanted to impress Fury because he was his hero and Talos was weak. He wants to kill Fury and do whatever it takes to end humanity. Fury says he knew he couldn’t find another home planet for the Skrulls after a few years of searching. Earth was their only option. Fury felt relief after being blipped because he didn’t have to fight anymore. He felt responsible for Gravik, and that’s why he came back to Earth. He has the harvest and is prepared to give it to Gravik and wants him to leave earth, and destroy any other race of people.

Gravik takes the harvest as Fury collapses. Gravik turns the machine on with both of them inside and becomes a Super Skrull with a plethora of Avengers DNA. He throws a punch at Fury but Fury counters and throws one with Hulk’s fist. It sends Gravik flying and he crashes outside. It's revealed that G’Iah had shapeshifted into Fury and was the one in the room with Gravik the whole time. They continue to fight and G’Iah displays the powers of multiple Avengers. G’Iah bests Gravik and he dies. She goes below New Skrullos to free the government officials. Everett Ross is down there and he asks Rhodey how long he’s been there it’s reveled that he’s been a Skrull since post Civil War. After that all the officials are freed.

Sonya tells Rhodey that the president has to be moved because Fury is after him. As he’s moving a few secret service agents are shot. They make it up the elevator as Rhodey finds a room for the president. Sonya pulls a gun on him and the president is shocked. Fury emerges from the hallway to tell the President about Rhodey. He tells him about the government officials that are held captive under New Skrullos. Rhodey is trying to convince the president that Fury is lying. Fury shoots Rhodey dead as the president calls off the strike. The president makes a statement that he wants to kill all the Skrulls.

Fury goes to see Priscilla at home; she questions his love for her and he says he does but tells her that he’s leaving. He tells her that she’ll know where to find him. G’Iah runs into Sonya and she wants to align with her to help fight back against the president’s plan to kill the Skrulls. G’Iah seemed receptive to it. Fury then tells Rittson that his speech was hateful and he needs to rethink that. Since the president's speech, there are vigilantes killing humans and Skrulls since they don’t know the difference. He tells him if he really cares about the Skrulls he needs to get them off the planet.

Fury is getting ready to leave Earth when Priscilla comes and sees him. He says the Kree are open to peace talks with the Skrulls. He wants her to help him negotiate peace for the Skrulls and asks her to come with him. She transforms back into her skull form and says she loves him as he is. He says only as you are and they kiss to end the episode.

Now that the season is over it's hard to say what Secret Invasion accomplished. We went into this season with Skrulls not being safe on earth and we ended the season with that still being a huge issue. I don’t think people are going to love G’Iah having the powers of every single Avenger who ever lived. That’s just a hunch though. It takes the stakes out of any battle she’s involved in, who can best someone with that much power? The government conspiracy drama was my favorite aspect of the season. It was very intriguing throughout and that gave us some fun twists and turns. The super Skrull machine and the harvest, all felt bizarre, it was the first time I felt Marvel jumped the shark. It’s a shame because there’s a good show in here somewhere, the first few episodes showed us that. Secret Invasion unraveled and it’s truly a bummer.
