Knox Goes Away: Michael Keaton Stars In & Directs New Psychological Crime Thriller - Trailer
From Ryan Cordaro
Earlier this week, Michael Keaton had a viral moment at the Oscars when Batman villain actors Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger took the stage and made a joke about both being defeated by Batman. It was admittedly a fun bit, and most of all (what I think the goal was from the Academy), there’s a new movie being led by Keaton coming out very soon, and it isn’t even the upcoming Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: it’s a crime-thriller that also happens to be Keaton’s directorial debut.
Knox Goes Away follows John Knox, a seasoned contract killer who is diagnosed with a fast-moving form of dementia. As he’s presented with the opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of his estranged adult son, he must race against the police closing in on him, as well as the ticking clock of his own rapidly-deteriorating mind. I’m admittedly a good sucker for these kinds of genre movies, almost like a modern noir in some ways. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if Keaton saw the HBO series Barry and ended up wanting to have a hitman of his own.
Knox Goes Away stars Keaton (Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), The Flash), James Marsden (Jury Duty, Westworld), Suzy Nakamura (Deep Impact, Archer), Joanna Kulig (Masters of the Air, Cold War), Ray McKinnon (Mud, The Continental), John Hoogenakker (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Dopesick), Lela Loren (Power, The Man from Toronto), Marcia Gay Harden (So Help Me Todd, The Mist), and Al Pacino (The Irishman, the upcoming Hand of Dante).
Knox Goes Away is now playing in theaters from Saban Films.
