This is gonna be the first trailer posted here for 2025, and I really don’t know about a lot of the smaller movies releasing this year. Sure, I know about the big blockbusters and the projects I know that actors and directors I like to keep up with, but as always, there’s always a movie out there that you don’t know is coming out. One of the first big trailer drops of the year, a horror/rom-com, mainly comes with a surprisingly close release, which is less than a month away. I had even seen a poster for this at an AMC theater last month, way before this trailer dropped, so at least Heart Eyes was in the back of my mind.

Heart Eyes follows the titular Heart Eyes Killer, a serial killer that kills couples around Valentine’s Day. He strikes Seattle and finds a loving couple to kill, but who he finds aren’t actually dating, but just co-workers. Now, the two people have to spend the most lovely night of the year running for their lives. What piqued my interest was Christopher Landon as a co-writer, who’s made the Happy Death Day movies, as well as Freaky with Vince Vaughn. I do love a good, small-scale horror movie. Maybe it’s trying to piggy-back on Thanksgiving's success (which did end up being surprisingly fun), but I think Heart Eyes could be something decent.

Heart Eyes stars Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer, Cloak & Dagger), Mason Gooding (Scream VI, the upcoming I Want Your Sex), Gigi Zumbado (Doctor Odyssey, The Rookie), Michaela Watkins (Saturday Night Live, Wanderlust), Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Chucky), and Jordana Brewster (the Fast & Furious franchise, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning).

Sony is releasing Heart Eyes on February 7th, 2025, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
