There were a lot of trailers that dropped last night during the Super Bowl, and I’m going to keep this brief. Below will be every single trailer that was released and shown during the Super Bowl broadcast.

Let’s just dive into it.

The Fall Guy

The Fall Guy is an adaptation of the show of the same name from the 80s starring Lee Majors. Ryan Gosling (Barbie, Blade Runner 2049) takes on the lead role of Colt Seavers, a battered and past-his-prime stuntman, finds himself working on a film set with the famous star for whom he doubled long ago. When the star goes missing, and the film [which is being directed by Colt's ex-girlfriend] is in danger of being shut down, he volunteers to investigate the disappearance and find the missing actor. The Fall Guy also stars Emily Blunt (Pain Hustlers, Oppenheimer), Winston Duke (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Spenser Confidential), Aaron-Taylor Johnson (Bullet Train, the upcoming Kraven the Hunter), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso, the upcoming Mission: Impossible 8), Stephanie Hsu (BLUE EYE SAMURAI, the upcoming Dìdi), and Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, Lights Out). Majors himself is also set to appear in the film.

Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Bullet Train), The Fall Guy hits theaters on May 3 after a special premiere at SXSW on March 12th, 2024.

Kung Fu Panda 4

If I’m being totally honest, I forgot that Kung Fu Panda 4 was even coming out. The fourth entry in Dreamworks’ beloved franchise follows Po, who must train a new warrior when he's chosen to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. However, when a powerful shapeshifting sorceress sets her eyes on his Staff of Wisdom, he suddenly realizes he's going to need some help. Teaming up with a quick-witted corsac fox, Po soon discovers that heroes can be found in the most unexpected places. Kung Fu Panda 4 includes returning cast members like Jack Black (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the upcoming Borderlands), Dustin Hoffman (The Meyerowitz Stories, the upcoming Megalopolis), James Hong (Everything Everywhere All At Once, Turning Red), and Bryan Cranston (Argylle, Asteroid City). New cast members include Awkwafina (Quiz Lady, Renfield), Viola Davis (Air, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes), Ke Huy Quan (Loki, Everything Everywhere All At Once), Lori Tann Chin (Awkwafina is Nora From Queens, Joy Ride), and Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians, M3GAN). Notably, Ian McShane (the John Wick franchise, One Piece) reprises his role as Tai Lung, the first movie’s villain.

Directed by Mike Mitchell & Stephanie Stine, Kung Fu Panda 4 hits theaters on March 8th, 2024.

Despicable Me 4

I recently wrote up a post for the main trailer, so I’ll use this to talk about the ad that aired during the game itself. I honestly really enjoy that such a big studio is making a stance against AI. Either way, Despicable Me 4 follows Gru welcomes a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who's intent on tormenting his dad. However, their peaceful existence soon comes crashing down when criminal mastermind Maxime Le Mal escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru.

Since this went up only a few days ago, here’s my thoughts on the full trailer of Despicable Me 4, which hits theaters on July 3rd, 2024 and is directed by franchise veteran Chris Renaud.

A Quiet Place: Day One

While the trailer actually released a few days ago, they showed a new spot for A Quiet Place: Day One close to the beginning of the game, so this counts. A Quiet Place: Day One is a prequel to the first two films directed by John Krasinski [we’ll get to his latest movie in a minute], and as the title says, it depicts the first day of the apocalypse that made Earth go quiet. Day One stars Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Us), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, Overlord), Alex Wolff (Hereditary, Pig), and Djimon Honsou, who reprises his role from A Quiet Place: Part II.

Directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig) and written by Sarnoski and Krasinski, A Quiet Place: Day One hits theaters on June 28th, 2024.

Deadpool & Wolverine

Alright, we have the big one now. Deadpool 3, or what’s now officially Deadpool & Wolverine, is finally on the way. I’ve already seen multiple posts breaking down what’s in the trailer for this year’s only MCU film, especially little easter eggs, but we’re not gonna do that here. While there have been many leaks about the movie (which I’ve successfully avoided as of writing), most of the plot itself is under lock and key.

In terms of the cast of the film, mostly everyone from the previous two Deadpool movies return: Ryan Reynolds (Spirited, Ghosted), Morena Baccarin (Serenity, Greenland), Brianna Hildebrand (Lucifer, Tragedy Girls), Leslie Uggams (American Fiction, the upcoming Fallout), Karan Soni (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Office Christmas Party), Stefan Kapicic (The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Slotherhouse), Shioli Kutsuna (Invasion, the upcoming Death Stranding 2: On the Beach), Lewis Tan (Shadow and Bone, the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2), and Rob Delaney (Argylle, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) are all back in their roles. Joining Reynolds as a lead, though, is none other than Hugh Jackman, returning to the role of Wolverine/Logan/James Howlett for the first time in seven years. Other new cast members include Matthew Macfadyen (Succession, Pride & Prejudice) and Emma Corrin (The Crown, A Murder at the End of the World). Of course, there’s speculation of who could cameo in terms of other X-Men members. In the trailer, we got a quick one in Aaron Stanford’s Pyro, reprising his role from X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand. One more reveal comes from Deadline’s article about the trailer’s release, where they actually confirmed that Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, who starred in the Ben Affleck-led Daredevil movie alongside her own spin-off film, will appear in some capacity.

Directed by Shawn Levy (The Adam Project, Free Guy), Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 26th, 2024.

Wicked

I have to admit, I didn’t see this one coming at all. I knew that a film adaptation of Wicked was on the way, but still seeing it feels surreal, even if it’s a ways off. I feel like I don’t have to tell you what Wicked is about, mainly because it’s one of the most popular musicals of all time. You could even argue that it’s even *the* Broadway musical. This is also a part one, which will reportedly cover the first half of the original Broadway musical. Wicked’s cast includes Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale, Harriet), Ariana Grande (Don’t Look Up), Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All At Once, A Haunting in Venice), Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Asteroid City), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Fellow Travelers), Ethan Slater (The SpongeBob Musical!), Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live, The Tiger’s Apprentice), Bronwyn James (The Dig, Masters of the Air), and Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman, Forspoken).

Directed by Jon M. Chu (In the Heights, Crazy Rich Asians), Wicked: Part 1 hits theaters on November 27th, 2024 where it will directly take on the recently announced sequel to Moana.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

I’m admittedly very excited for this one. The recent Apes trilogy led by Andy Serkis is some of the most underappreciated trilogies in recent memory to me, and I’m really excited to dive back into this world. Set nearly 300 years after the reign of Caesar, a young ape goes on a journey that will lead him to question everything he's been taught about the past and make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike. Serkis himself isn’t involved in the movie, but the new cast includes Owen Teague (IT, Reptile), Freya Allen (The Witcher, Gunpowder Milkshake), Kevin Durand (I Am Number Four, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Peter Macon (The Orville, Shameless), and William H. Macy (Fargo, The Dropout).

Directed by Wes Ball (the Maze Runner franchise, the upcoming The Legend of Zelda), Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on May 10th, 2024.

Twisters

We have an interesting thing here with Twisters. It’s reportedly a spiritual sequel to the cult classic Twister, which starred Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt. This sequel won’t have any connections to the first, at least at the time of this writing. There’s not much else to the plot just yet, but it’s got a massive cast to boot. The cast includes Daisy Edgar-Jones (Fresh, Where the Crawdads Sing), Glen Powell (Anyone But You, the upcoming Hit Man), Anthony Ramos (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Dumb Money), Maura Tierney (The Iron Claw, ER), Brandon Perea (NOPE, The OA), Daryl McCormack (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, The Woman in the Wall), Sasha Lane (How to Blow Up a Pipeline, The Crowded Room), Kiernan Shipka (Totally Killer, the upcoming Red One), Nik Dodani (Atypical, Strange World), Harry Hadden-Paton (The Crown, Downton Abbey), Tunde Adebimpe (Strange Planet, the upcoming Skeleton Crew), Katy O'Brian (The Mandalorian, the upcoming Love Lies Bleeding), and David Corenswet (Pearl, the upcoming Superman: Legacy).

Directed by Lee Isaac Chung (Minari), Twisters hits theaters on July 19th, 2024.

Special Series Mention: Knuckles

Well, I was close with my predictions post. I completely forgot that on Paramount+ [where I was watching the Super Bowl], there would be a Knuckles spin-off series. They aired a short teaser for it during the game, but the full trailer came out a few days ago. Not much is out in terms of plot just yet, but we know that it’s set between the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the upcoming third entry. Idris Elba (Hijack, Extraction 2) reprises his role from the second film, alongside returning members Ben Schwartz (Parks & Recreation, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Tika Sumpter (The Underdoggs, The Old Man and The Gun), and Adam Pally (Iron Man 3, FUBAR). The new additions to the franchise include Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, the upcoming The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones, Knives Out), Stockard Channing (Grease, Six Degrees of Separation), Julian Barratt (The Great, Mindhorn), Scott Mescudi (X, Silent Night), Ellie Taylor (), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones, Jumanji: The Next Level), and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?).

Knuckles drops all six of its episodes at Paramount+ on April 26th, 2024.

IF

It’s honestly really nice to get something this… simple these days. Sure, I like a good sprawling epic of a movie, but I like something that looks cute, and IF looks like the remedy for that. IF follows a little girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s IFs, or imaginary friends. She then embarks on an adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids. IF has an all-star cast and voice cast that includes Cailey Fleming (The Walking Dead, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Ryan Reynolds (Spirited, the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine), John Krasinski (A Quiet Place, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Fiona Shaw (the Harry Potter franchise, Andor), Alan Kim (Minari, Theater Camp), Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear, Cat Person), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live, Monsters at Work), Steve Carell (Asteroid City, the upcoming Despicable Me 4), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny), Louis Gossett Jr. (An Officer and a Gentleman, Watchmen), Emily Blunt (Pain Hustlers, Oppenheimer), Matt Damon (Air, Oppenheimer), Maya Rudolph (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Bridesmaids), Jon Stewart (The Daily Show), Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Argylle), Sebastian Maniscalco (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, The Irishman), Christopher Meloni (the Law & Order franchise, Harley Quinn), Richard Jenkins (Nightmare Alley, The Shape of Water), Awkwafina (Quiz Lady, Renfield), and Vince Vaughn (Freaky, Wedding Crashers).

Directed by Krasinski, IF hits theaters on May 17th, 2024.

Monkey Man

Like Despicable Me 4 just above it, I already made a post about Monkey Man, Dev Patel’s bloody directorial debut. Monkey Man follows a young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he's beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, he discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city's sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.

Here’s the full post I’ve written about Monkey Man if you’d like to know more. Monkey Man hits theaters on April 5th, 2024 after it premieres at SXSW.

Inside Out 2

I think we all know that Pixar’s been in a rough spot recently, but it feels like this would be the big Pixar movie that we’ve been waiting for since the pandemic settled in. In Inside Out 2, we return to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who've long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren't sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up, and it looks like she's not alone. The cast includes Amy Poehler (Parks & Recreation, Saturday Night Live), Phyllis Smith (The Office, The OA), Lewis Black (Accepted, Jacob’s Ladder), Tony Hale (VEEP, the upcoming Woman of the Hour), Liza Lapira (Crazy, Stupid, Love., The Equalizer), Maya Hawke (Maestro, Stranger Things), and June Squibb (Nebraska, the upcoming Thelma).

Directed by Kelsey Mann in her directorial debut, Inside Out 2 hits theaters on June 14th, 2024.

And that’s it! It took a minute to put together, but enjoy the trailers above.
