Christine Baranski Confirms ‘Mamma Mia! 3’ Is In The Works - News Reelz
From Joe Peltzer
It’s been six years since Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again hit theaters and grossed over $400 million worldwide (2008’s Mamma Mia! grossed over $600 million). Because of the financial success of both films and the beloved music, it should come as no surprise that a third installment is in the works.
Rumors of Mamma Mia! 3 have swirled for years, but now we have a bit of confirmation from Christine Baranski, who plays Tanya in the films. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor shared that she recently grabbed drinks with series producer Judy Kramer, who is planning for the film. Said Baranski, “She gave me the narrative plotline of how it’s going to happen. That’s all I can say! But, it’s not like, ‘Oh, I wish it could happen!’ Judy Kramer makes things happen.”
Commenting further, Barasnki referenced how the films have made millions of people happy (and been successful), and that the world is starved for things that produce happiness. The real question is… will Meryl Streep somehow return again?
