Episode 7 opens with Hera answering to the senate committee. They don’t believe Hera’s story and say it reads like a fairytale. The Senate still doesn’t believe Thrawn could return and that Hera is abusing her power. Then out of nowhere, C-3PO makes a cameo saying he’s there on Princess Leia’s behalf. C3PO has a transcript saying Leia approved of Hera's mission. The general says she doesn’t know what Leia and Hera have going on but she knows Leia didn’t approve her mission.

Ahsoka is training in her ship with a message from Anakin’s hologram in the background. He says he won’t always be there and she needs to be able to make it on her own by trusting her instincts. Ahsoka tells Huyang that Anakin was a good master. They go to the flight deck and say once they drop out of hyperspace they’ll find Sabine. Huygen is skeptical that the Purgill is leading them in the right direction. They hit an imperial minefield as their ship exits the Purgill’s mouth. Thrawn knows Ahsoka is in pursuit and gives the order to pull their fighters. Morgan asks why and he says he doesn’t want to waste their resources on finding Ahsoka and that she’ll show up eventually.

Sabine and Ezra are going for a little leisurely ride. Ezra says he thought Sabine would never find him. Sabine tells him that Ahsoka took her on as her apprentice and he asks where she is. Sabine says she doesn’t know and that it’s complete and you see the sadness in her face.

Thrawn then sends the great mothers to find Ahsoka. Ahsoka and Nuygen are waiting for the debris from the minefield to clear so they can continue their search. Ahsoka tries to call for Sabine by using the force. We cut it to Sabine and she can hear her and responds. Ahsoka says she can see her but the great mothers have also found Ahsoka. Now that Ahsoka knows where she’s going she’s full speed ahead. The ride through the minefield was exciting and well-shot. Thrawn wants to engage Ahsoka again now that he knows she’s looking for Sabine.

Baylan and Shin find Ezra’s location and Shin sends the coordinates to Thrawn. Baylan sends Shin alone and says their ambitions are taking them in separate directions. Baylan tells her to kill them and take her place in the Empire. Ezra and Sabine are on the run as Shin pursues them with their fighters. As Ezra and Shin fight them off, Ahsoka is flying overhead. Ahsoka jumps off her ship to find Baylan waiting for her. He says he didn’t expect to see her again. They draw their lightsabers and begin to duel. Sabine tries to give Ezra a weapon and he says he doesn’t need one because the force is his ally now. Shin finds Ezra and can’t connect with his lightsaber. Sabine and Shin fight as well. As Nuygen flies overhead and distracts Baylan, Ahsoka escapes in pursuit of Sabine. Ahsoka finally makes it to Sabine and Ezra as they continue to fight off the stormtroopers that made their way there as well.

Thrawn then calls off the attack and calls it an acceptable loss. Morgan says all she sees is that their enemies have reunited. Thrawn clues her into his plan. He says with their enemy distracted the cargo transfer is almost complete which means they can leave this forsaken place. Thrawn says Ahsoka lost a lot of time today and that time is on their side now and he’ll keep it that way. Ahsoka is finally reunited with Sabine and Ezra and they embrace to end the episode.

This episode had a lot of well-done action set pieces with the minefield pursuit and Sabine and Ezra being pursued by Shin. We got the reunion that’s been building up for the last couple weeks and now Thrawn’s plan is taking shape. The finale next week is shaping up to be a fun ride.

New episodes of Ahsoka debut on Disney+ every Tuesday night.
