‘Abigail’: First Trailer For ‘Scream VI’ Duo’s Vampire Flick Is All Killer, No Filler - Trailer
From Ryan Cordaro
The previously-untitled monster movie from Universal Pictures and Radio Silence, the directing duo behind the two previous entries in the Scream franchise and Ready or Not, has been unveiled. Abigail, which reunites Radio Silence with Scream VI and Ready or Not writer Guy Busick, dropped its bloody first trailer (January 11th).
Abigail follows a group of wannabe criminals who are hired by a higher-up in the crime underworld to kidnap a 12-year-old girl named Abigail. To collect their massive, $50 million ransom, they have to watch her overnight in an isolated mansion. As members of the group begin to disappear, they discover that they’re locked in a mansion with a young vampire.
Included in the cast of kidnappers are Melissa Barrera (the Scream franchise, In the Heights), Dan Stevens (The Guest, Legion), Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, Freaky), William Catlett (Black Lightning, A Thousand and One), Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), and Angus Cloud (Euphoria). Abigail features Cloud’s final on-screen performance after his death this past summer.
Rounding out the cast is Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Boys) in a mystery role and Alisha Weir (Night Swim, Matilda the Musical) as the titular vampire.
Abigail hits theaters this spring, April 19, 2024.
