Interview – “Jeannette” Director Maris Curran On The Resilience And Inspiration Of Pulse Nightclub Massacre Survivor Jeannette Feliciano

On June 12th, 2016, a gunman opened fire in Orlando’s gay venue Pulse Nightclub, killing 49 people and wounding 52 more. Maris Curran’s new film Jeannette is an intimate look into the life of Jeannette Feliciano, a queer Puerto Rican single mother and competitive bodybuilder, as she continues living through the daily trauma of her experiences as a survivor of the massacre. The film is set to premiere this weekend at the San Francisco International Film Festival and I am delighted to have had the opportunity to speak Maris to hear more about the film and the incredible story of Jeannette.
