2013’s 47 Ronin is getting a sequel that will be led by Anna Akana (Ant-Man) and Mark Dacascos (John Wick 3 – Parabellum) and directed by Ron Yuan (Step Up China). Interestingly, the film will be written by a trio: John Swetnam, Aimee Garcia, and A.J. Mendez, the latter of which went my AJ Lee in World Wrestling Entertainment. The original film followed a group of samurai who vowed revenge on the man who was responsible for the death of their leader. It starred Keanu Reeves and wasn’t that well received, but became popular in the years that followed. The new film, currently in production, is said to be set in the modern world. It is expected that the sequel will go straight to digital/streaming platforms.
