The Wrap brings word that Marvel Studios may be planning a Disney+ Halloween special. According to the outlet, Marvel is currently looking for a male Latino lead for what is rumored to be an adaptation of Werewolf by Night, a name used by multiple Marvel characters. The first is “a descendant of the mystically-altered offshoot of humans known as Lycanthropes, who eventually becomes capable of transforming on his own volition even without a full moon, and retaining his intellect while transformed.” As The Wrap notes, this version’s series featured the first appearance of Moon Knight, soon to be a series led by Oscar Isaac. The most recent version of Werewolf by Night came last year and was “a member of the Hopi Native American tribe whose family has been cursed with lycanthropy, comes in conflict with a nefarious pharmaceutical company exploiting members of the tribe.” Time will tell which direction the comic powerhouse is going, though the special isn’t expected to enter production until next year.
