Michael B. Jordan has been rumored to be trying to get a Black Superman project off the ground for years and now it seems like it is actually happening. Collider reports that either a film or series is in the works at HBO Max with Jordan and his Outlier Society production company behind it. The project is rumored to focus on Val-Zod and a writer has reportedly been hired. No word yet on the extent of Jordan’s involvement.
We learned months ago that Ta-Nehisi Coates was writing a reboot of Superman under J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production label and that they were looking for a Black actor and Black director. Is this the same project? Stay tuned.
