Chad and Carey Hayes, creators of The Conjuring, are gearing up to launch a new franchise of films based on The LaLaurie Mansion, a home in New Orleans where serial killer Madame LaLaurie tortured and murdered slaves in the 1800s, per Deadline. The infamous figure was most recently portrayed by Kathy Bates in American Horror Story: Coven. The first film will be directed by Spiral: From the Book of Saw director Darren Lynn Bousman and set in the present day with the intent for it to serve as a launching point. It sounds as though the film is being fast-tracked for potential release later this year.
