After being sidelined by the pandemic for what seems like forever, Regal Cinemas will begin reopening its doors in the United States on April 2nd, a few days after Godzilla vs. Kong debuts. A limited number of theaters will actually welcome moviegoers on April 2nd with more locations coming back online in the weeks following. UK theaters will reopen in May.
Additionally, Regal’s mothership Cineworld has signed a new deal with Warner Bros. that will allow the chain to show the new releases in theaters the day they are released, as well as sent to HBO Max. Starting in 22, new WB releases will see an exclusive 45 day window release, a sign of the changing landscape with streaming booming.
