Netflix Sets A Date For The Film Formerly Known As ‘Connected’

Earlier this year, Netflix acquired Connected from Sony Pictures Animation and promptly retitled it The Mitchells vs. The Machines. Now they have shared a funny little teaser that announces the film’s release date as April 30th, 2021 on the streamer.

Synopsis (from Netflix):

Young Katie Mitchell embarks on a road trip with her proud parents, younger brother and beloved dog to start her first year at film school. But their plans to bond as a family soon get interrupted when the world’s electronic devices come to life to stage an uprising. With help from two friendly robots, the Mitchells must now come together to save one another — and the planet — from the new technological revolution.

THE MITCHELLS VS. THE MACHINES, a new animated family comedy from the humans who brought you Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse and The Lego Movie, speeds onto Netflix on April 30 with Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Mike Rianda, Eric Andre, Olivia Colman, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Charlyne Yi, Blake Griffin, Conan O’Brien, Doug the Pug, Sasheer Zamata, Elle Mills, Alex Hirsch, and Jay Pharoah.
