Days after Disney CEO Bob Chapek essentially said that the upcoming release of Black Widow would be a game-time decision, the film has been moved back to July 9th, 2021 (from May 7th). Additionally, the Scarlet Johansson-fronted Marvel film will also be available on Disney+ on the same date via Disney+ Premier Access, for an additional charge. The move also impacts Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which has been pushed to September 3rd, 2021.
In other Disney news, Cruella will also debut concurrently in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access on May 28, 2011, while Pixar’s Luca will be free to subscribers of Disney+ on June 18, 2021. Ryan Reynolds’ Free Guy has been delayed to August 13th, 2021, The King’s Man sent to December 22, 2021, and Death On The Nile to February 11, 2022.
