With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting every corner of the world, 2021’s Sundance Film Festival was forced to take its annual event online. Now, Sundance reports that 600,000 viewers participated, a number 2.7 times larger than the typical attendance for the 11-day in-person event. This year’s event was condensed down from the typical length of the in-person festival and saw fewer films participate. However, initial reviews of the digital platform used have been positive.
