Apple Acquires ‘CODA’ At Sundance, Sets Record

Apple has set a Sundance Film Festival record this year, acquiring CODA for about $25 million, topping last year’s record of $22.5 million set by Hulu for Palm Springs. The film, titled after the acronym for Child of Deaf Adults, follows a high school senior who is the only family member who can hear, seeking to follow her own dreams while keeping her family held together. Emilia Jones stars, directed by Siân Heder.
