Daisy Ridley will star as Gertrude “Trudy” Ederle, the first woman to ever swim across the English Channel, in an adaptation of Glenn Stoudt’s book Young Woman and the Sea. Joachim Rønning (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) will direct for Disney (likely Disney+) while Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman will direct.
