Warner Bros. and other studios may be considering shifting some of its early 2021 slate to streaming, following the announcement that Wonder Woman 1984 will debut on HBO Max this Christmas. Films reportedly being considered include Denzel Washington’s The Little Things, the live-action/CGI hybrid film Tom and Jerry, and Daniel Kaluuya’s Judas and the Black Messiah. Additionally, the oft-moved The King’s Man, from Disney’s 20th Century Studio, is said to potentially move to streaming as well as the film adaptation of the popular musical Everyone’s Talking About Jamie.
It has also been reported that Warner Bros. toyed with moving the reboot of Mortal Kombat to streaming, but opted to push back the release for a theatrical release (a sign, I believe, of confidence in the film and hopes for a potential franchise).
