Last week we learned that Zachary Levi will star in the upcomingfilm adaptation of The Unbreakable Boy from Lionsgate, based on a true story and written by Jon Gunn (I Still Believe). Now comes word, via Deadline, that the young lead has been cast with Jacob Laval taking on the role. Meghann Fahy (One Life to Live), Peter Facinelli (Twilight), Drew Powell (Gotham), Pilot Bunch (The Outsider), and Patricia Heaton (The Middle) have also been added to the cast.
Read the official synopsis for the film below:
You’ve never met a kid like Austin. He’s not just one in a million… he’s one in four billion – the odds of being born with both a rare brittle-bone disease and autism. But what makes Austin truly unique is his joyous, funny, life-affirming worldview that transforms and unites everyone around him – especially his dad, Scott (Zachary Levi), who changes his life as he comes to see Austin not as the symbol of something broken, but the triumph of an indestructible spirit. To meet Austin is to know that being “unbreakable” is not about physical strength, but inner strength. It’s about embracing love and grace, even in the most trying times.
