John Boyega has never shied away from sharing his true feelings about his time in Star Wars universe, specifically having called out what he viewed as the maltreatment of non-white characters (such as Kelly Marie Tran’s Rose Tico and his own Finn). Speaking with the BBC today, Boyega shared that he and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy had a phone conversation that he described as “really nice, transparent, honest.” He went on to state that Kennedy showed support and that the conversation was ultimately beneficial. This sounds like a rather fruitful development in an industry that, in the past, may have shunned the actor for speaking out. Progress?
