Melissa McCarthy’s ‘Life Of The Party’ At Center Of New Lawsuit

A new lawsuit filed in California claims that the Gersh Agency was presented with the concept for 2018’s Life of the Party from plaintiff Eva Kowalski, ripping off her treatment and script for College Mom. The film followed a mother (Melissa McCarthy returning to college, the same school her daughter attends. Aside from the $10 million claim for damages, the suit also calls for the destruction of all materials related to the film. McCarthy and Ben Falcone penned the script and are also named in the suit, along with others.
