GLAAD has released the results of a survey of 118 major studio films released in 2019, assessing the representation of LGBTQ individuals. The organization found that the number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer characters in films increased in terms of the number of films that had an LGBTQ character, but most were on screen less than three minutes (like in Avengers: Endgame). This does not include transgender individuals who were absent from all movies surveyed. Further, racial diversity of LGBTQ characters dropped from the previous year, as did the number of queer women represented.
