SFX Magazine recently spoke with The New Mutants director Josh Boone who stated that he has a trilogy planned out, should the film be successful enough to warrant follow-ups. The New Mutants, a film shuffled around for years from release date to release date, is currently scheduled for theatrical release on August 28th, 2020.
